Since launching in December 2019, Unitemps at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has had the pleasure of providing students, recent graduates, university departments and external clients with tailored recruitment services and employment support.
Despite the pandemic-related challenges experienced over the last 15 months, Unitemps at LJMU has made exceptional progress in helping thousands of candidates to find paid work under difficult circumstances. In addition to this achievement, the Branch has reached its first major milestone of paying out more than £1,000,000 in wages to students and recent graduates!
To achieve this, the Recruitment team has worked closely with candidates and hiring managers to provide support for a wide-range of roles, both within the University and external organisations. From exam invigilators, research support specialists and COVID-19 marshals, through to accommodation mentors, interns and many more.
Reaching this milestone is testament to the success of everyone involved. Without a dedicated workforce and client base, it simply wouldn’t have been possible to achieve this result at such a difficult time.
The Recruitment team is also immensely grateful for the quality of the job opportunities made available to LJMU students and recent graduates. Marnie Blackman-Cook, Branch Manager, commented:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our students, recent graduates and clients for their support and commitment throughout our first 18 months in operation. To be able to pay LJMU students and recent graduates £1,000,000 in wages is a truly overwhelming achievement.
The level of knowledge and skills gained throughout the global pandemic has been outstanding, as has the commitment and dedication the students have shown. We couldn’t have done this without you.”
